Week 4

In class this week we have worked on several assignments including, Scratch, Bits and our reading of "Blown to Bits" Chapter 1.  The information from our reading was very intriguing.  Bits to Bytes and Bytes to Hexadecimals.  Its truly amazing how the Khan Academy videos help illustrate a topic or point of view.  I plan to use this website in the future for related topics that benefit my need.  Scratch on the other hand has been a roller coaster ride!  It took me awhile to figure out how to use it  and get better but I still dont think I even know half of what I did...  Very interesting software but I feel there needs to be a semester class just on understanding how to use this software.  Sprites were neat and the animation was cool but thank goodness its over!  I love a challenge and that's exactly what you gave me.

Reflections on the semester!

These past four weeks have been an eye opening experience! Starting with our blog website.  I never realized how fast technology is moving today, networking is now all around us!  We have learned about Excel in ways I never knew.  I have never heard of Mail Merging before, the thought of interacting with a mailing list to a greeting head of a letter is amazing.  I'm definitely using this for my fly fishing charter that I'm starting, so I can I can keep in contact with my clients!! Access was confusing for the most part but once i figured it out it was a "piece of cake".  Lots of trial and error!  The video's that you have uploading have been very informative.  I love stuff like that, it gives a solid insight on our future and new ways to learn.  Khan  Academy is genius because it shows helpful  ways to illustrate different learning module and there topic.  The Scratch software was probably the most time consuming thing.  I feel like it took me hours and hours and hours, to the point I could not study for anything else.  It was the definition of trial and error.  I hope I never see it again, no offense!  This was an amazing class in which I learned so much and have gained a high level of confidence in the world of computer technology. Thank you for a great summer session!

Week 3

This week was a nice brush up on using Microsoft Excel and Word.  Using Excel can greatly illustrate formal address books, data sheets, business graphs, financial spreadsheet analysis.  Being able to compute these scientific references really helps to build good business qualities.  I have never used or made up a home budget spreadsheet.  It really helped me understand my financial stability and how to save money.  I will definitely keep using this down the road.  MAIL MERGE was extensively stressful but once figured out made alot of since and was actually useful.  The things that I learned this week will play a major factor with my future and technology in the near future.

Week 2

In week 2 our class forum was on CAPTCHA.  A global text for book referencing all over the world.  Taking one simple word from the distorted word bank and typing it out to illustrate the word or meaning.  We also create a survey.  I have never designed my own survey before but what a great introduction or nice way of connecting this class online by linking our survey's together.  My survey was on the NBA but I never received 4 responses from my survey to complete my full analysis. Great week...

Can the Miami Heat win the NBA finals?

       Can the Heat make it to the NBA Finals?  As the Miami Heat fight to take the world Title, there is a close race in the Western Conference.  The Heat are favored to win but have recently  shown their true colors.  With Bosh out due to injurie and a few recent suspension from game 5 the Heat need to focus on game 6.  Udonis Haslem earn a 1 game suspension and will miss game 6.  With Haslem being such a big defensive and offensive threat to other teams, it makes him a huge asset to the Miami organizations.  Dexter Pittman is suspended for the 3 games for the Flagrant 1 foul against North Carolina superstar Tyler Hansbrough.  If Mario Chalmers can stay out of foul trouble, and Jawan Howard and James Jones play as a team and make decent passes without turning over the ball Miami may have a chance in Game 6.  With the "Big Three" not having Chris Bosh inside the paint the spotlight is on Dwayne Wade and Lebron James to carry the team to the finals.  With Miami's hopes looking slim, Lebron James need to prove his skill because title hopes are on the line.  Lebron James was the 2012 NBA MVP and has earned All-defensive honors while 4th in the league in steals. Dwayne Wade is a man of all trades.  This year for the Heat Dwayne Wade has 14 blocks, and is 5th in the league with 20 steals.  They have an arsenal of weapons but can they overcome these obstacles to win the title.
